When you finish taking your photographs, remove the memory card from the camera and load it on the computer. Ignore the message that pops up when you insert your card in the card reader and open Adobe Photoshop CC (64-bit).
Once Photoshop loads click on File --> Open and navigate to your memory card. Select the CR2 or RAF files and click Open. Your photos will open in the RAW image editor in Photoshop first. You can make all the necessary adjustments to your photographs (Exposure, Contrast, White balance etc.) by using the settings menu to your right.
In the case of visible light photographs remember that you can select the White Balance Tool, place it on the white area of your colour palette and click on it.
Once finished, select your preferred images and open them in Photoshop. Normally, you should only be required to make minimal changes to your photos which mostly involve cropping your image to the desired dimensions.
Remember that infrared images need to be desaturated first. You can do so by using the “Saturation” slider and moving it all the way to the left (-100). Then make sure that your whites actually look white by using the White Balance Tool mentioned above. Finally, make sure that you balance your histogram for best results by adjusting the Exposure, the Contrast etc.
